5 Ways You Wreck Your Workouts Without Realizing It!

1.Not Warming Up
Put simply, we are not preparing our bodies for movement and therefore are exposing ourselves to injury. There is no bigger set back than an injury, so make an effort to warm up!
2.Not Getting Enough Sleep
Hormones such as growth hormone, that help us build muscle and burn fat are active when we sleep. Therefore shutting down at a normal hour, and getting approx 7 hours every night is essential for recovery.
3.Training Too Long
A common physiological response to training is the release of certain hormones into the bloodstream, such as testosterone and dopamine. Going past 45 to 55 minutes per workout can put the body into a negative hormonal state. This pushes us into ‘over training’ and can affect our performance in the long run.
4.Not Eating Enough
Put simply, the amount of energy you put into your body will dictate the training response. if you want to build muscle, you need to take in more fuel, i.e. calories. To lose weight, you need the right kind of fuel. Without energy to burn, the body turns to the most readily available source: muscle protein.
5.Working in Limited Range of Motion
Limited range of motion in a movement equals limited range of strength and mobility. Limited mobility puts us at risk of injury, as our muscles will not be used to stabilizing us under certain circumstances. Working through full range of motion uses these muscles and many more, burning more calories during your workout!
